What is ultrasonic plastic welding?+
Ultrasonic welding uses high-frequency mechanical vibrations (20 to 40 kHz) to generate heat through molecular friction at the interface of two plastic parts. In under a second, the material melts then solidifies under pressure, creating a sealed, strong weld — with no glue, no consumables and no emissions.
Which plastics can be ultrasonically welded?+
Amorphous thermoplastics (ABS, PS, PC, PMMA, SAN) weld very well at a distance. Semi-crystallines (PP, PE, PA, POM, PET) require contact welding and a well-designed energy director. Elastomers and thermosets cannot be ultrasonically welded.
Which frequency should I choose: 20, 30, 35 or 40 kHz?+
20 kHz for large parts and thick materials (automotive, appliances). 30 and 35 kHz for medium parts and medical. 40 kHz for precision and miniature electronic components. Higher frequency means lower amplitude and finer welds.
What's the difference between ultrasonic, vibration and hot plate welding?+
Ultrasonic is fast (< 1 s) and clean, ideal for small and medium parts. Vibration welding suits large flat parts. Hot plate handles complex geometries and difficult materials. The choice depends on size, material and required sealing.
Do you operate in Tunisia and Morocco?+
Yes. Our main workshop is in Sousse (Tunisia) and we have a service point in Tangier (Morocco). We also serve France, Algeria and West Africa for machine sales, maintenance and training.
Do you sell refurbished machines?+
Yes. We offer refurbished ultrasonic presses with warranty, as well as serviced vibration and hot plate machines. Each machine is tested and delivered with a matching sonotrode and operator training.
How much does a feasibility study cost?+
The initial feasibility study is free: send us your drawings or samples and we validate weldability, optimal process and indicative budget within 48 working hours.
Do you manufacture custom sonotrodes?+
Yes. We design and machine titanium, steel or aluminium sonotrodes matched to your geometry, material and throughput — with prior modal simulation to guarantee resonance frequency.
